Thanks Morris! Hopefully I won't need surgery meaning I can get back on the bike much sooner. I was told that if I don't have surgery I'll have to live with a bump on my shoulder for the rest of my life, I think I can handle that. I mean, I can't get much uglier! I do plan on training again as soon as I can.
Nobody else was really hurt in that wreck, go figure!

Youch!  Hang in there!  I've been through a broken arm before and a couple of sprains. Just try to get back on as quick as you can.  The longer you take off the harder it is to get in the groove (I'm still trying to get there!).  How's the guy you ran over??

Make that the AC joint and I think 3rd degree is the worst type of separation.

It's hurting me to type this! Feeling great today, trying to move up on the final lap, we're hauling ass and everyone is jostling for position when someone tangles in front of me and crashes! Everything just opens up and there's a guy lying down right in front of me, I can't go left, I can't go right, so I hit my brakes but plow into him anyway. I do the Superman over my handle bars and land on my right shoulder. Go to the hospital and get x-rays. Anyway, I have a third degree separation of the ALS on my right shoulder. I've got a big old bump and it hurts like hell! I think it's the exact same injury Hincapie sustained at Paris Roubaix a couple of years ago when his steerer tube broke. I have to see a specialist and then we'll decide whether or not to have surgery. I hope I can just rehab it, but I'm pretty sure I won't be doing any training on the road for a while.

Time to plan for next season!

Got a text from Gabe Garcia with Joe's that Robert crashed in Austin.  Sounds like a collarbone break.  Bummer man!!

It happened this past Friday.  Nice birthday present and will keep me in the reserves for at least another three years.
