Does anyone have any experience doing these?  Interesting article and research: http://www.nwconditioning.com/2009/09/research-overview-1/

Haven't done these in particular. Coggan had wrote about seated starts and stomps to improve short term (5-15 sec, maybe) power (in a "hard" gear, low cad stuff). Guess it could be similar to the single legged jumps. I think he may have limited his time to about 10 sec on stomps. He saw an increase as well. I think it's part of his arguement to do that vs. weight training to improve power.

Have you ever done any low cadence work with hill repeats trying to simulate something like Ft Davis?  Is it worth doing some longer threshold work at a lower cadence to get ready for this?  I'm thinking about adding some of these into my workouts.

other than hitting vp or ten  tops, i haven't done any low cad work to simulate ft davis. may try and do ft davis, but not really focusing on.  been looking at fayetteville race demands. i did start doing some seated accelerations  -mainly short bursts though, not longer intervals. never really focused on accelerations or stomps, we'll see if there are any improvements.....
